Privacy policy
Last updated 24 May 2026. Lawezi is built for sensitive legal operations, so website, enquiry, and product data should be handled with clear purpose, retention discipline, and appropriate review.
Scope and our role
This policy explains how Lawezi handles personal information through the public website, demo requests, business communications, account access flows, and the Lawezi legal practice system.
Where a law firm or other customer uses Lawezi to manage its own matters, contacts, documents, workflows, finance records, or integrations, that customer is usually responsible for deciding how that matter data is used. The relevant customer agreement and any data processing terms apply to that customer data.
Information we collect
We may collect contact and professional details, firm information, demo request details, support or sales communications, account and identity information, product usage information, and technical information such as browser, device, log, and analytics data.
When Lawezi is used by a customer firm, the product may process matter-related information that the firm or its authorised users enter or connect, including client and contact details, matter data, documents, key dates, notes, notifications, billing or finance signals, DMS metadata, workflow activity, and audit events. Some customer matter data may include sensitive information because legal work can involve sensitive facts and records.
How information is collected and held
Information may be collected directly from you, from your firm or authorised users, through identity providers and integrations, through website forms and cookies, or from service providers that support our website and product operations.
Information may be held in Lawezi systems, cloud infrastructure, business systems, support tools, analytics tools, and customer-configured integrations. We use administrative, technical, and organisational controls designed for a legal SaaS operating environment.
How we use information
We use information to respond to enquiries, arrange demos, operate and secure the website and product, authenticate users, provide support, manage customer relationships, improve Lawezi, meet legal or contractual obligations, and communicate with firms or authorised users.
We do not sell personal information. Marketing communications can be opted out of where required by law or where an unsubscribe option is provided.
Sharing and disclosure
We may disclose information to customer firms and their authorised users, service providers, hosting and infrastructure providers, analytics and communications providers, professional advisers, integration providers, regulators, law enforcement, or other parties where required by law, contract, security, or the protection of rights.
For product data controlled by a customer firm, disclosure and access are also governed by that firm's configuration, permissions, connected systems, and customer agreement.
Overseas disclosure
Lawezi and its service providers may store, process, or support information from Australia and other countries where our providers or operations are located, including the United States and other jurisdictions used by cloud, communications, analytics, security, or business service providers.
Customer agreements may include more specific commitments about hosting location, data residency, subprocessors, or integration behaviour for a particular firm.
Cookies and analytics
The website and product may use cookies, logs, and analytics technologies to operate sessions, remember preferences, understand usage, improve performance, protect the service, and support product and marketing decisions.
Browser settings may allow you to block or delete some cookies, although this may affect website or product functionality.
Security and retention
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information against misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, to provide the product, comply with legal or contractual requirements, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, maintain security, and keep appropriate business and audit records.
Your rights and contact
Depending on the laws that apply, you may have rights to request access to, or correction of, personal information and may have other rights such as deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or complaint rights.
For personal information controlled by a customer firm, please contact that firm first because it is usually best placed to respond to matter or client data requests. For Lawezi website, demo, or business relationship privacy requests, contact info@lawezi.com. If you believe your information has been mishandled, please contact us first so we can review and respond. You may also have the right to contact the relevant privacy regulator.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Lawezi, our service providers, or legal requirements change. The updated version will be published on this page with a revised update date.
